I already teach coding on my We Will Code channel, but this new project is different. Jose’s Life gives me a place to document real-life hobbies, personal challenges, and honest progress.
I chose piano because many people want to learn it, but they never start. I wanted to see what happens when a complete beginner follows an app, practices consistently, and documents the full process.
For Day 1, I opened Simply Piano and started with the beginner Piano Basics lesson.
The app walked me through the early steps of playing piano. It helped me recognize basic notes, follow rhythm, and get comfortable using the keyboard.
Simply Piano listens while you play and gives feedback in real time. That helped me slow down, repeat sections, and understand what I needed to fix.
During my first practice session, I focused on the basics. I worked on the keyboard layout, followed notes on the screen, and played along with the app.
I also started learning how timing and rhythm work when playing a song. Even simple lessons took focus because I had to think about every note and every finger movement.
That made Day 1 feel real. It showed me that learning piano takes patience, even at the beginner level.
Based on my first day, Simply Piano seems like a helpful way to start. The app does not expect you to know everything already. It gives you small steps and lets you practice at a beginner-friendly pace.
That structure helped me stay motivated. I was not playing anything complicated yet, but I could already see progress.
The biggest thing I learned on Day 1 is that piano takes patience. You have to train your eyes, hands, and timing at the same time.
I also learned that starting slowly matters. Instead of rushing into full songs, I need to build a strong foundation first.
My goal is not to become great overnight. I want to show the real process of learning piano as a complete beginner.
That means showing the mistakes, the progress, the confusing parts, and the small wins along the way. This first video is only the beginning.
Day 1 gave me a solid start. I learned the basics, followed my first lesson, and got a better idea of what piano practice feels like.
If you have ever searched for whether adults can learn piano from scratch, I am asking the same question while I learn. This series will document the answer honestly.
This is Day 1 of the journey.
